Statute of Limitations: Decades Old Indiana Suit Filed Against California Entity Dismissed

Plaintiff, a lifetime Indiana resident, alleged sexual abuse decades ago by another Indiana resident. All alleged abuse occurred in Indiana. Plaintiff’s allegations of abuse contradicted her prior sworn statements to Indiana police. Plaintiff sued a major religious corporation headquartered in California. We obtained a dismissal of the case on demurrer on the grounds that the statute of limitations of Indiana should apply. Plaintiff initially appealed the demurrer ruling, but abandoned her appeal.
