Resolving Complex Cases With A Personal Approach

Plaintiffs Drop Suits Against Major Religious Organization

Two plaintiffs brought what they described to the press as “blockbuster” lawsuits against our client, a major religious organization. Both cases involved sexual abuse between minor children in private homes that the religious organization knew nothing about until after all abuse had ended. After we removed the cases to federal court, plaintiffs lowered their demands to under $75,000 (the federal jurisdictional threshold). Upon remand to state court, we noticed the depositions of key witnesses which prompted plaintiffs to dismiss their cases.
